And the forecast said it would rain and it did… for nearly 3 straight days. Just when you thought it couldn’t rain any more, a new wave came in and the wind came and we were happy we were inside Ocean Tramp. (At times we felt a bit like Noah and we were definitely glad we were in a boat and not on land!) In addition to the comfort of Ocean Tramp, we were also hunkered down in a safe cove. We still got bursts of wind, but with a good anchor holding and good lines, we were very confident in where we were. We also had great country side to explore in the few windows allowed to explore (and even then we a few came back like drowned rats).
But a great few days – fresh snow filled the peaks, we enjoyed card games, listening to the wind and rain, a few movies, I managed to finish 2 books! And most importantly Liz made incredible progress on knitting her sweater for Giff. There is something wonderful about being in a cove, in a beautiful landscape and watching it unfold before your eyes over the course of a few days. Small streams became bigger streamers, dry creek beds made way to new water falls. The greens became even greener with the shiny wet luster the rain brings to colors. And now after nearly 3 days, the weather forecast has held true and we are making a long run to the east today towards Puerto Navarino and then Ushuaia.
