We started our Antarctic adventure 12-30-17 by meeting the Ocean Tramps Captain Fede and his wife Laura at the dock in Ushuaia, Argentina.
We set sail towards the Antarctic Peninsula, it would take 4 days to across the Drake passage which seemed like a week to me very rough seas to get to our first stop.

The trip has been amazing, penguins by the hundreds, humpback whales, Orcas whales and seals.

Captain Fede and Laura are very knowledgeable about their friends in the sea and where they hang out, watching the whales seems like they were performing for us – it was awesome.
Let’s not forget about the wonderful blue and green glaciers and iceberg sculptures that are amazing.

Antarctica holds a lot of history dating back to the 1800’s, old whaling stations, whaling boats and whale skeletons are seen on some of the banks. Port Lockroy had the oldest post office that is still running with the help of volunteers. Our next stop is at deception Island.

The Ocean Tramp accommodations are excellent, the food is fantastic – prepared by Manuel.
