Ocean Tramp – New Year’s Rap- Adam

in
Antarctic Expeditions

Adam put together a rap for New Year’s Eve which he and Laura rapped together, with the rap ending nearly perfectly within seconds of midnight!

We’re the Ocean Tramp and we don’t mess around.

With a crew of 11, Antarctica bound.

We’re the adventurous type, always on the go.

When opportunity knocks, we never say, NO!

With our sails up, Beagle Channel in View.

It’s a perfect time to introduce the crew.

Our captain, also known as Fede.

When disaster strikes, he’s always at the ready.

He can do it all from bow to stern.

You want to cross the Drake? Just watch and learn.

He’s Fede – Yeah he’s the man.

Always up early with a master plan.

Go Fede, Go Fede, GO. GO.

Now Fede’s wife, she’s pretty rad.

From Falls Church, Virginia and a Princeton grad.

When it comes to nautical knowledge, nobody beats her.

That is why… she is our expedition leader.

Full of ideas, no two days are the same,

From hikes, kayaking, movies, blogs and trivia games.

She can do it all as demonstrated every day.

We’re so lucky having her lead our way.

Go Laura, Go Laura, GO. GO.

Her name is Annie, that’s a fact.

Spotting birds through her nockies or in the zodiac.

Pearly white smile, long brown hair.

Don’t let her looks fool you, she has no fear.

Savvy on the seas, not one to blunder.

She’s our small boat captain from down under.

Go Annie, Go Annie, GO. GO.

The port side bow cabin is where he called home.

Often on an empty belly, the galley is where he would roam.

He couldn’t go ten minutes without saying, “What a Day, What a day”.

Many would don ear plugs when he was walking their way.

Elephant seal sounds could be heard from his cabin at night.

He claims it was seals but we know who is right.

Go Adam, Go Adam, GO. GO.

Her name is Meryl, She’s very bright.

Art major by day, works in a mortuary by night.

Youngest of the crew coming in at twenty.

Quick with fun facts and pretty damn funny.

Go Meryl, Go Meryl, GO. GO.

Dressed in LL Bean and hat by Under Armor.

Meet our next member of the crew, she goes by Donna.

In the port side cabin is where she resides.

But often on the bow viewing whales swimming by.

Armed with her camera, ski poles in hand.

Snow shoeing up the mountain, it’s easy to be her fan.

Go Donna, Go Donna, GO. GO.

Meet Miguel, now he’s the man.

Who can whip up any meal in his frying pan.

From soup to shepherd’s pie, dessert to assorted teas.

He keeps our bellies full on the frigid seas.

Go Chef, Go Chef, GO. GO.

Now Wendy, she’s my hero.

Cancer tested her twice…SCORE? Wendy 2 – Cancer ZERO!

When not kicking ass on the high seas.

You can find her in Park City, clicking in her skies.

Go Wendy, Go Wendy, GO. GO.

Hello Heike, the oldest of the crew.

Although 77, there is nothing she can’t do.

She is my buddy, always making sure I have plenty of food and drink.

I return the favoring by assuring she’ll be saved if we happen to sink.

Go Heike, Go Heike, GO. GO.

With bushy brown hair, sunnies made by Prada.

A love for yoga pants, nobodies louder.

Her name is Katherine and she never feels down.

She’s our cute little chatterbox from Cape Town.

Go Katherine Go Katherine, Go. Go.

Meet Dr. Bee Bee, He is never down below.

Always on the lookout for a whale blow.

He really knows his stuff from what we can tell.

Especially when debating if whales can smell.

Sniff sniff, sniff sniff, –

Is that what whales do when the krill is adrift?

The answer to the questions is – We don’t know.

So dispatch the drone and let the hydrophone go.

Laura on the lookout tracking Group A and Group B.

Miguel just got fired from drone watch, I guess it’s tough to see.

Adam now on drone watch, hoping he too doesn’t fail.

Annie quick with the camera capturing another whale tail.

Adam pauses and says, oh, what a day.

Katherine reacts to Bertrand’s command – release the clay!

Wendy’s spotting birds over our imitation krill.

While Heike, Donna and Meryl take in the thrills.

Wendy spots birds checking out the clay.

Adam repeats himself, Oh, what a day.

Go Team, Go Team, GO. GO.

Folks, that’s a rap and it is time to go.

As we bring in 2017 with music and floes.

Happy New Year to all and to all a good night.

From the crew of the Ocean Tramp on an Antarctic night.
