Ocean Tramp – Icy Wonderland

in
Antarctic Expeditions

Thursday 8 December 2022
A weather change overnight: sunny blues have become cloudy greys. Slipped lines around 0700, heading to Paradise Bay. Significant ice (6/8ths) en route to Waterboat Point. Eze and Voy signaling from the bow so that skipper Dave could dodge the big ones, nudging lesser obstrucions to the side. Speed generally <1 knot. Sea cleared after the Chilean station at Waterboat Point with good progress to Paradise. On arrival at Skontorp Cove rafted up alongside sailing yacht Marama. Then RIBs to the Argentine Alimirante Brown station and a trek up the hill.
