Georgina, Passenger
Oh My Goodness what can I say about today. After camping out on the ice for the night with the Lovely Laura and two other passengers we awoke to an absolutely beautiful sunny sky blue day. We were “rescued “ from our plight by Ollie and transported safe ,well and chuffed that we survived the night and none of us had needed to go home in the middle of the night. Just an aside our Porta loo was a loo with a spectacular view!!!. The always awesome `Breakfast was had and we were off heading toward the `LeMaire Channel and the most brilliant Breathtaking scenery. Sunny skies, Great Company , Wicked hot Chocolate on deck what more could one ask for. Yet more was to come. When the word ORCA was uttered the deck was filled with all guests and crew. The Ocean Tramp was idling as we were blessed with the spectacular of a pod of about 10 Orcas around the boat even to the extent of a couple swimming alongside and under the boat.We had the utter privilege of spending about half an hour with these magnificent animals. Antarctica has been a dream for mine for years and the trip has exceeded all expectations. When we all sat done around the table for the first time we were all asked what we hoped to get out of the trip… My answer was I had dreamt for years to seeing the frozen continent and high on the list was to see an Orca. Today it happened.I would like to thank the crew on the Ocean Tramp. Leandro, Ollie, Lucas and Laura you are a truly amazing team. Thank you.
