Hans Hansson Added to Fleet
Quixote Expeditions adds additional vessel for its Antarctic Voyages
Quixote Expeditions is excited to announce a new addition to their fleet. In addition to Sailing Vessel Ocean Tramp, Motor Vessel Hans Hansson will now be part of Quixote’s vessel options. With the addition of Hans Hansson, Quixote Expeditions becomes the largest small boat operator in Antarctica with Ocean Tramp and Hans Hansson – able to voyage with 12 passengers or less on up close, intimate, expeditionary voyages.
A HUGE thanks to Hans Hansson’s previous owners – Dion and Jerome Poncet and Juliette – they were amazing owners and caretakers of a great vessel and they pioneered her use as a well-respected vessel in the South. We hope to keep up the legacy that they started with such a great vessel. They have also been great to work with to help us to get to know the vessel and the challenges that are ahead for us!
Hans Hansson is 26.m long and she can take up to 12 passengers and 6 crew. Hans Hansson was specifically built to withstand challenging weather, as she started her career as a life saving vessel in Norway, was then purchased by Sweden, and has now transitioned to taking passengers to the amazing corners of the world. Her hull – designed to withstand the waters of the infamous North Sea, is perfectly suited for exploring Antarctica. Hans Hansson is an amazing platform from which to watch whales and icebergs – taking amazing photos. And she is also small and maneuverable enough to get into smaller places.
We will use Hans Hansson in Antarctica, around the Falkland Islands / Malvinas, and South Georgia.
For the first season she will be used for exclusive charters – please contact us if interested.
What’s Happening to Ocean Tramp?
Ocean Tramp will stay a part of the Quixote Expedition fleet and is excited to get a big sister!!!! The addition of Hans Hansson, just means we are expanding. The addition of another vessel also means more safety back up for each vessel as we can have stronger self sufficiency while in Antarctica.
Ocean Tramp is also available for charters – Contact us now for the up coming season.
