Made it Across the Drake!

in
Antarctic Expeditions

We’ve made it across the Drake and we are spending a final night at anchorage in Harberton, the first Estancia (Ranch) in Tierra del Fuego. After the first day in the Drake the winds picked up and for one day were even not particularly in our favor, but we are an intrepid crew of 11 and we have made it across. We just finished an excellent meal of beef, potatoes, salad and pineapple, followed by a champagne celebration that we have completed this amazing expedition. We finished the evening by re-reading all of our blog entries an reliving the past 25 days – what a time we have had and amazing friends we have made. Tomorrow we will wake up early and continue to Ushuaia, the final 5 segment our our journey down the Beagle Channel.

What a trip! Love from the whole crew – thanks for believing in us, following us, and celebrating in this amazing expedition.
