(Myriam, France)

One morning at Mikkelsen harbour

Afar, in this morning of December, the Mikkelsen glaciers were seated on their thrones like tranquil kings, bathed sometimes in the fog, sometimes in blinding light. Weddell Seals seemed to have long waited for our landing by offering us their most tender look and the reassuring vision of snowed sleep. Penguins, gathered in colonies, unperturbed despite our walk, went about their routine. Suddenly, Antarctica was opening the doors of its majestic house, without having yet revealed everything of its ineffable splendour. (Myriam, France)
