All the wind we didn’t have in the Drake Passage…

in
Antarctic Expeditions

We were given a smooth Drake Passage down nearly 10 days ago…. it looks like the Drake has found us and has decided to give us a taste of the power of her winds. We sailed yesterday from the Peninsula up to the South Shetland Islands and dropped anchor in Deception Island. We woke up to winds slightly strong than anticipated….. now predicted at 36 gusting 48! Snow is blowing nearly horizontally outside, but we are warm inside Ocean Tramp. So for now, we are happy we have a good holding and we are enjoying Antarctic movies and games onboard!

Thanks for all of the comments via the blog – we are able to read onboard any comments made directly on the blog in response to posts.
