The weather gave us a calm and steady day, no kiting, but we were able to visit West Point Island. Here Alan and Jacqui greeted us with big smiles as they usually do! On this island we were able to visit a Rockhopper penguin and Black browed albatross colony. At this time of the year this birds are performing their mating rituals. They preen and display their wings with amazing sounds.
In the afternoon we visited Carcass Island, were we were welcome with tea and cookies! After this nice snack we went for a 5 km hike up to a White sand beach were we were picked up by the zodiac to enjoy beautiful sunset.
El clima hoy nos regaló un día tranquilo y sin viento, asique aprovechamos a visitar la isla West Point, donde Alan y Jacqui nos recibieron con una sonrisa! En esta isla pudimos llegar hasta una colonia de pingüinos de penacho amarillo y albatros de ceja negra. En esta época del año, los encontramos haciendo sus rituales de apareamiento. Acariciándose el plumaje suavemente, desplegando sus alas y haciendo diferentes sonidos.
La tarde la completamos con una visita a las isla Carcass, donde nos invitaron a tomar el te con unas ricas tortas y galletas caseras. Después de esta rica merienda hicimos un trekking de unos 5 km hasta una playa de arena blanca donde nos recogieron con el Zodiac y nos dirigimos al Hans Hansson y disfrutamos de un atardecer increíble!
