We just completed a trip that focused on Photography in Antarctica, with Visionary Wild and the two photo leaders, Justin Black and Daisy Gilardini. We also had Watercolor artist David McEown onboard. How lucky for everyone. One benefit of having amazing photographers and guides onboard, is they get you to places you might not usually go and at times you might not usually be awake! (thank you Antarctica for very late sun sets and very early sunrises). The benefit, though to the rest of us who may not be as good at the intricate ins and outs of photography, is that even with my own basic photo skills, the results still look pretty good (at least to my own eye!!!)
The trip seemed to be a great learning experience for all participants. A few times during the trip photo review sessions were held, going over photos from every member. David also took an afternoon to explain his artistic process with watercolors and how he does his field work.
Please click and read the blog post for a few of my own photos taken at moments of stunning beauty or amusing penguin moments!
Thanks so much to the Visionary Wild team for a really fantastic and beautiful trip!!!!
