Yesterday we successfully picked up our passengers from the airplane! We spent the night near Frei Station – allowing everyone to get comfortable on the boat, get to know each other and get a good night’s sleep after much travel. We woke up to a grey day, but to brighten it, Manu had made us yummy pancakes and of course Dulce de leche was on the table as a spread! The grey day make us happy knowing now we are underway heading further south where the weather should be better – a nice over night motor / sail deeper south.
What a great new set of passengers – we have one couple from Germany – the husband was with us last year and this year has brought his wife along! He stepped onboard, gave us a great big hug and said he was happy to be back on his ocean going home! How much fun it is to have returning passengers. He is now showing his wife all the ways of the boat! We also have a couple, who were my next door neighbors growing up. They are sailors and have now joined us – what a wonderfully small world. And finally we have a young woman who wants to visit all continents prior to turning 40 and Antarctica will be continent #6, with only Australia to go! We are a nice, relaxed group all enjoying each other’s company.
