“Seas the Day”. It was a humorous quote one our of our Christmas gifts and it’s the best way to approach the Drake!
We motored from Dorian Cove up to the Melchior Islands in our “worst weather” yet – a bit of wind, and lots of snow and low visibility. We did a whale experiment with clay, but the whales were not interested and it was cold and windy and we were all glad when the 20 minutes came to a close and we retreated back into the Ocean Tramp for some coffee, tea and cake. But inside was full of fun with a crazy game of Beyond Baulderdash followed by a closing Antarctica Trivia night, with Annie showing her skills in Antarctica knowledge and winning!!! This Morning as we enjoy our peach pancakes, we are thinking about the morning where we have to organize all of our gear – make sure everything is stowed so it doesn’t go flying, strap down everything on deck. We’ll have lunch then leave the shelter of the Melchiors in the early afternoon.
Now a few thoughts from the Breakfast table about crossing the Drake….
Excited – annie
Really!??!? [in response to annie] – Wendy

During the Drake we will not blog, but we will continue to post our position. We’ll catch you across the Drake!
