Donna, the intrepid grandmother of the grandmother – granddaughter duo takes a day at blog writing!
Sitting on the bow of Ocean Tramp in Wilhelmina Bay surrounded by snow covered mountains. Hard to tell where snow ends and fluffy white clouds begin. Icebergs in water of various sizes, shapes, and shades of blue to white. Ice floe surfaces covered with crab eater seals. As we sit mesmerized by the beauty and watching for whales, an iceberg approximately 50 feet away decided to turn over. The color changed from blue to intense blue.
As several whales are spotted in the distance Bertrand sends off the drone and after many days Donna gets her Whale Tale shot. In the afternoon we spent time watching penguins swimming, jumping, fighting, cleaning, and climbing. Heading to our nightly anchor, Bertrand and Annie spot what appears to be a whale in distress and just as the Ocean Tramp reaches it the whale wakes up rolls over and takes off. For dinner we had a delightful lasagna. Visual gifts plus spending time with 10 other unique fantastic individuals make this my most spectacular adventure in all my 75 years!!!
