We woke up after a long sail in Telephone bay on Deception island. After breakfast we went for our first walk of the day on the south side of Stancomb cove to the top of the hill where we had an amazing view of the crater and an aerial view of the sleepy fur seals below.
It was back to the boat for lunch and then a short sail to Whalers bay where we disembarked and went exploring all the old abandoned buildings, cemetery and airstrip, it was then a longer walk than anticipated (in an effort to avoid all the sleeping fur seals) on the beach up to Neptunes window. More photos were taken and then it was back to the boat for an extremely competitive game of Texas Hold’em followed by another one of Janey’s delicious dinners, pork char suey !
